Calibrating Infocus IN82

March 22nd, 2009

Ok so i had some time to spare and decided to finetune the calibration of my new projector Infocus IN82.

The “software” i used was mainly the Digital Video Essentials HD version.

Fortunately the colors are almost perfect out of the box and since i can darken the room i was able to close the iris almost entirely which allows me to get very nice black details while still maintaining the single chip dlp punch!

The settings:
Keystone: Off
Image Shift: Off
Contrast: 45
Brightness: 54
Color: 50
Tint: 50
BrilliantColor: Off
Gamma: Film
Overscan: Off
Advanced:
Iris: 32
Flesh Tone Correction: 0
Film Mode: On
Sharpness: Standard
Color Space: Auto
Color Temperature: 6500K
Color Gamut: Auto
Color Control:
Red gain 46, Green gain 47, Blue gain 50
Red offset 51, Green offset 48, Blue offset 50
Noise Reduction: Off
High Power: Off

Here are some schmears i took (it doesn’t do the projector justice, but still)

Euroscreen Frame Original Grey

So my new screen arrived today and just had to assemble it.
The procedure was fairly easy but it required some use of schmear and a whiskey :)

Here are some pictures of the parts and assembly

I will take new pictures when the projector has been mounted to the ceiling and the screen is on the wall as it should be.

Infocus IN82

February 27th, 2009

After months of reading reviews and watching demos of different Full-HD projectors i finally decided to go for Infocus IN82.
The picture this beast can produce is outstanding, even right out of the box! Later on i’ll probably have an expert do a ISF-calibration but for now the issue at hand is to schmear install it and buy a screen that can do the projector justice.

I wont bore you with specs and technical data, if you’re into that stuff (i’m one of those) you can find it here!

Here are some pictures of my new baby :)
